# RoqueOS **An operating system that runs in the browser. The same URL works as a PWA, Electron, Capacitor, Flutter, and LG webOS app.** ## **What RoqueOS is** A web OS with windows, dock, menu bar, visual file system and 49 native apps. It runs in any modern browser — phone, laptop, Smart TV, tablet — without installation. The same URL `roqueos.com.br/app` is the main app; people who prefer it installed can grab it from the Microsoft Store, Docker Hub, or the Electron, Capacitor and Flutter wrappers. The optional server (RoqueOS Server) enables an isolated Linux terminal per user, code-server VS Code in the browser, remote access via VNC/RDP through Guacamole, running Windows programs (.exe) in the cloud via Wine, Cloud Gaming (cloud Android for game streaming), and an App Store with 155 Docker containers from a public catalog (CasaOS-compatible format). OpenClaw, an AI agent with screen vision and tool-use, is built into the system as a native app. ## **The problem** Smart TVs ship with powerful hardware and bad software. Smart speakers have CPUs and cameras but the interface is locked to whatever the manufacturer decided. Devs who switch between home, client and café spend hours reconfiguring their setup. Each platform has its own store, its own accounts, its own formats. The practical consequence: the user spends time adapting to each device instead of the device adapting to the user. ## **How RoqueOS is different** CasaOS, Umbrel and Cosmos solve the server side — container dashboard, NAS, automation. They do not give a full desktop in the browser. Webtop and Daedalos run a Linux GUI in an iframe, with no unified app system. Kasm Workspaces and Puter.com get closer, but the first is expensive and enterprise-first, the second has no native Docker and no proprietary AI agent. RoqueOS connects the four ends: - Desktop frontend with windows and native Vue apps. - NestJS backend with terminal, persistent filesystem and container management. - App Store of 155 Docker containers (CasaOS-compatible format). - OpenClaw as proprietary AI agent. It runs in 10 languages, including Arabic with RTL. ## **Continuous updates** Because it is web-based, RoqueOS updates without reinstalling. PWA with service worker loads the new version in the background, continuous deploy via Firebase Hosting with 2-version retention for fast rollback. People who installed via Microsoft Store or Docker Hub also receive the new version on the next open. Most operating systems ship 1-2 large updates per year. RoqueOS updates at the pace of development. ## **Who it is for** In the current stage, RoqueOS serves people familiar with servers, containers or system administration. The server install requires basic technical knowledge, and the early audience reflects that: - Homelabbers and home server enthusiasts. - Devs who want an environment accessible from any machine. - Makers and IT professionals. - Smart home users who want more control. - People tired of the limitations of Smart TVs and locked smart speakers. The technical bar is intentional in the current phase. It drops as the RoqueOS Cloud setup (managed, no manual command) reaches production. ## **Origin** In 2009, I built a version of a cloud desktop that became my Computer Science thesis — published to the Chrome Web Store in 2012. The idea was too early for the technology of the time. Since 2023 I have been studying AI tooling in depth. In January 2026, on vacation, I rebuilt the idea from scratch in 15 days, applying all of that knowledge and my own AI harness. I published it at the end of January and the reception was excellent. Since then I improve RoqueOS continuously — and use it as a lab to engage my team and my leadership on what AI already enables. ## **Main features** - Full desktop with windows, dock and menu bar in the browser. - 49 native apps (Finder, Chat, Text Editor, Paint, multitrack Tablature with HD playback, Browser, Terminal, VS Code, Clock, Maps, PDF reader, etc.). - 10 languages (pt-BR, en-US, es-ES, fr-FR, de-DE, ja-JP, zh-CN, hi-IN, ru-RU, ar-AR). - Docker container management with 155 apps in the public catalog. - Isolated Linux terminal per user (in Server Mode). - Code-server VS Code through the browser. - Running Windows programs (.exe) in the cloud via Wine, streamed to the browser (Server Mode). - Cloud Gaming: cloud Android to play PS Remote Play, Xbox Cloud, GeForce Now and Steam Link via streaming (Server Mode). - Visual file system with optional Google Drive, SMB and NFS. - SSH, RDP and VNC remote access. - Home Assistant integration. - OpenClaw, AI agent with screen vision and tool-use. ## **Access model** Today RoqueOS is free in self-hosted mode via Docker. No license, no key, no lock. The user has full control of data, environment and infrastructure. RoqueOS Cloud (managed, in development) goes live with three paid plans: Starter R$ 59, Pro R$ 129, Power R$ 399, plus Enterprise on request. Each plan is its own server shared by several users (family, team or company), each with their own login and permissions — there is no per-seat charge. Billing is multi-currency: BRL, USD and EUR. Self-hosted mode stays free after the Cloud launch. ## **How to use it** ### **Standalone mode** Open [roqueos.com.br](https://roqueos.com.br) in the browser. No install. Runs as PWA, Electron (Windows via Microsoft Store), Capacitor (Android/iOS), Flutter (multi-platform) and webOS LG (in standalone build). **Microsoft Store:** [apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nh495rhpbqk](https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nh495rhpbqk) ### **Server mode** Enables Linux terminal, persistent filesystem, container App Store, code-server and remote access. Install via Docker. **Docker Hub:** [roqueribeiro1988/roqueos-server](https://hub.docker.com/r/roqueribeiro1988/roqueos-server) --- **Contact** - E-mail: [contato@levelhard.com.br](mailto:contato@levelhard.com.br) - Site: [roqueos.com.br](https://roqueos.com.br) - Documentation: [roqueos.com.br/docs](https://roqueos.com.br/docs)
