Remote Desktop Server
The Remote Desktop lets you connect to remote computers and servers via VNC or RDP directly from the browser, without installing any remote desktop client.
Supported Protocols
🖥️
VNC (Virtual Network Computing)
Cross-platform protocol. Works with Linux, macOS and Windows with VNC server installed.
🪟
RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol)
Windows native protocol. Better performance and integration with Windows machines.
How to Connect
- Open Remote Desktop from the Launchpad
- Click + New Connection
- Fill in: Name, Protocol (VNC/RDP), Host, Port, User, Password
- Click Connect
After connecting, the remote desktop appears in a RoqueOS window. You can interact normally with mouse and keyboard, resize, go fullscreen or disconnect at any time.
Use Cases
| Scenario | Description |
|---|---|
| Windows Server | Access a remote Windows server via RDP for administration |
| Linux Desktop | Connect to a Linux server's graphical desktop via VNC |
| Homelab | Manage multiple machines from your homelab through RoqueOS |
| Remote Work | Access your office computer from anywhere |
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- VNC: The remote computer needs a VNC server installed and running (e.g., TigerVNC, RealVNC, TightVNC)
- RDP: The remote computer needs Remote Desktop enabled (Windows Pro/Enterprise or xrdp on Linux)
- Network: The RoqueOS server needs network access to the remote computer (same network or VPN)
SECURITY
Connection credentials are stored securely on the server. Avoid using RDP/VNC connections without encryption on public networks — prefer VPN or Cloudflare Tunnels for external access.
